The ratification of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on Cooperation in the Fields of Mining and Hydrocarbons” signed on December 28, 2016, has occurred with Law No. 7322. This Law was published in the Official Gazette dated 03.06.2021 and numbered 31500.
According to the Agreement, the states parties will promote the development of cooperation in the mining and hydrocarbon fields.
In particular, states that will cooperate in the fields of mineral, oil and gas exploration establishment, development, promotion and in the fields of geology, management and consultancy will establish a Mining and Hydrocarbon Working Group to jointly realize their cooperation plans.
This Agreement was signed for a period of 5 years. If either party does not terminate the agreement, it will renew itself for the following 5-year periods.
