One of the most important features of court decisions is that the finalized decision is enforceable. It is natural that the decisions made in the courts of a country have consequences in the country that made the decision. However, in order for these decisions to be valid in a foreign country, the decision of the relevant foreign country must be recognized and enforcemented.
Recognition is the acceptance of the final ruling power of the decisions of the courts of foreign countries in the country.
Enforcement is the acceptance of the enforcement ability of the decisions made by the courts of foreign countries in the country.
Recognition and enforcement of foreign court decisions in Turkish law is regulated in Articles 50-59 of Private International Law and Procedural Law.
