In the Official Gazette No. 31425 dated March 16, 2021, the decision from the Personal Data Protection Authority to extend the registration date to the Registry of Data Controllers was published.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, which also affected our country, it caused a delay in fulfilling the obligation to register with the Data Controllers Registry. For this reason, a regulation was made to extend the period of registration to the registry as a result of the requests submitted to the Agency by many data controllers or their parent organizations, some of the public institutions and professional organizations that qualify as public institutions.
The period determined for the registration of the data controllers of public institutions and organizations and professional organizations with public institution status has been extended until 31.12.2021.
Legal person and natural person data controllers with more than 50 employees per year or with a total annual financial balance of more than 25 million TL and natural persons data custodians with Turkey outside the resident real and legal persons designated to carry out the Registry registration obligations of data charge period decided to extend until the date of 31.12.2021.
The period determined to complete the registration obligation of legal and natural person data controllers, who have less than 50 employees per year and whose annual financial balance is less than 25 million TL and whose main field of activity is special quality personal data processing, has been extended until 31.12.2021.
