Convention Marchandise Routier is the convention that regulates international standards in transportation, to which our country became a party in 1995. Its main purpose is to bring the documents used in the transport of goods on the road, the conditions of transport and the responsibilities of the carrier to a certain international standard.
The contract, which covers the transportation of motor vehicles, series vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, does not apply to transports carried out in accordance with international postal agreements, funeral transport, and household goods.
The conditions of the contract are applied in transports where at least one of the loading or delivery locations is a contracting state that is a party to the contract. The other party to the contract of carriage is not required to be a contracting state or to have any nationality.
A consignment note must be issued after the establishment of the transport contract in transport operations. It is arranged in three pieces, one copy at the sender, one copy at the carrier and one copy with the cargo.
It is possible to issue separate consignment note in cases where the products or transport vehicle means differ.
The information that should be included in the consignment note is separately regulated in the sixth article of the convention.
